There are three security stations and a security office in the courthouse. The main office is outside Courtroom A, on the second floor, near the atrium, in the new section of the courts building. A second security desk is located on the ground floor, near the entrance to Family Court. There are always uniformed officers on duty at both stations.

The third security desk is on the first floor of the "old" section of the courthouse, near the main building entrance and the Board of Legislators' office. There is also a uniformed officer on duty there.

Visitors to the courts will be required to pass through a magnetometer for safety reasons. Anyone with a health condition that would be affected by such scans may speak with the officer on duty. Personal belongings and closed containers may also be inspected at the discretion of the officer on duty.

For emergency needs, you may telephone the courthouse security office at (315) 379-2149. From inside the courthouse the same office may be reached by dialing extension 2149.

The New York State Police and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff both have facilities across the street from the courthouse, in the Public Safety Building. Either agency may be reached by dialing 911. The State Police may also be reached at (315) 379-0012, and the Sheriff's Office at (315) 379-2222.
