About Glens Falls City Hall
Built in 1900 to designs by Albert W. Fuller and William B. Pitcher,
recognized Albany architects of the turn of the century, City Hall
was originally named Village Hall and served as such until the City
was chartered in 1908. Not only does this structure gain historical
significance as the seat of local government for eighty years, it
is a significant example of the architect's work and a symbol of
the wealth and status Glens Falls had attained by 1900, as an upper
Hudson Valley manufacturing center and one of the most productive
lumber-paper producing centers of the nation. |
