Lieutenant Theodore Leoutsakos was a first responder during the September 11th terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and was trapped when the towers collapsed. He survived the attacks and was credited with helping many survivors that day. He was awarded the Medal of Valor and was recognized in a proclamation by then- Senator Hillary Clinton. For 24 years, he served as a New York State Court Officer and worked perimeter patrol outside of the New York County Supreme Court at 111 Centre Street in Manhattan.
