Civil Appeals Settlement Program

In 1998, the Court established a Civil Appeals Settlement Program (CASP).  Pursuant to this program, selected civil appeals are conferenced by a hearing officer appointed by the Court in an effort to arrive at a settlement of the matter or, at a minimum, limitation of the issues to be considered on appeal.  The success of CASP has been a major factor in the Court's efforts to find new ways to deal with its increasing workload.
