Judge Gerard E. Maney

Judge ManeyGerard E. Maney, Acting Supreme Court Justice, Supervising Judge of the Family Courts in the Third Judicial District, and Albany County Family Court Judge, was born in Albany, New York. He has served as Family Court Judge since 1991 and was appointed Supervising Judge in 2002. In 2002, Judge Maney established the Albany County Family Treatment Court.

B.A., Siena College, 1971; J.D. Widener University, 1976; admitted to the NYS Bar, 1978. Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Maney was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Albany, New York, and was associated with the law firm of Scheiberling, Rogan & Maney.

Judge Maney is past president of the Albany County Bar Association. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the NYS Family Court Judges Association and is a member of Albany Law School’s Government Law Center Advisory Board.

Judge Maney is a past member of Siena College’s Associate Board of Trustees and is currently Chairman of the Distinguished Jurist in Residence Pre-Law Program. He is the recipient of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York Equal Justice for All Award (1995) and the Outstanding Young Men of America Award (1989).
