Judge Patricia D. Marks

Judge MarksHon Patricia D. Marks has served as an elected County Court Judge for Monroe County since 1985. She was appointed as supervising judge for the criminal courts in the seventh judicial district in 1994 and is Presiding Judge of the Mental Health Specialized Calendar since January 2003.

She is the author of 27 published legal decisions and New York State Bar Journal articles: “Juries on Screen: Magic in the Movies” (June/July 2001); “Sharing Legal System Objectives as Russia Revives Trial By Jury”(March/April 2003).

She serves on committees and boards that relate to efforts to improve the court system including Pretrial Services Corporation, Legal Links, Public Safety Sector TQM Committee and Mental Health and the Courts and EDP response team advisory committee. She serves as co-chair of the New York State Criminal Jury Instructions Committee. She has been involved with educational and cultural exchanges with Russian colleagues on the bench and bar since 2002 through the Russian American Rule of Law Consortium.

She is a graduate of Vassar College and Albany Law School. She is married to retired attorney Jeffrey Marks and has two sons.
