 Philip G. Minardo received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Manhattan College and Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State Courts of New York and in the Southern and Eastern Districts of the New York Federal Courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He served as Assistant District Attorney in Richmond County for 7 ½ years where he prosecuted major felony cases on Staten Island. He then entered private practice, forming his own law firm and specializing in civil and criminal trial work. During that time, he served as special counsel to State Senator John Marchi, and served on the Board of Directors of Richmond County Bar Association becoming President of the Association in l987. He also served as Staten Island representative to the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates and served as a member of the Character and Fitness Committee appointed by the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division Second Department.
Justice Minardo holds membership with several professional and civic organizations, including the Richmond County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York and Columbian Lawyers Association of Kings County. Currently, he is vice president of the Association of Supreme Court Justices of the City of New York. In November 1995, he was elected Justice of the Supreme Court, Second Judicial District. He served as a trial justice in the criminal term in Kings County and in 1997 returned to Richmond County and serves as a trial justice in the civil term. In December, 2005, he was appointed the first Administrative Judge of Richmond County Supreme Court. He is the father of three sons, John, Philip and Brian.
