Honorable Jane Pearl is the Supervising Judge for Family Court, New York County, appointed to the position as of 2008. From 2003-2008 she served as Family Court Supervising Judge for Kings and Richmond Counties since 2003. Mayor Giuliani appointed Judge Pearl to the Family Court in 2000, at which time she served as a Judge in Bronx County. From 1998 to 2000 Judge Pearl was a Court Attorney-Referee in the Manhattan Family Court and served from 1994 to 1998 as a Support Magistrate in Family Court, New York County. After graduation from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1988, she served as a Court Attorney to Family Court Judge Sheldon Rand and then worked in the Family Law Department of Tenzer, Greenblatt, Fallon and Kaplan (now Blank Rome).
Prior to becoming an attorney, Judge Pearl was a psychologist at the National Institute for Human Relationships and at Associated Mental Health Services. Judge Pearl has also held teaching positions as a Substance Abuse Clinician and Research Associate at the University of Illinois’ Department of Preventive Medicine and School of Public Health and as a lecturer at Tel Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine. In addition to her law degree, Judge Pearl has an Undergraduate degree from George Washington University and Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University.
