Judge Thomas M. VanStrydonck

Judge VanStrydonckJustice Thomas M. VanStrydonck has been the Administrative Judge of the Seventh Judicial District since July 7, 2000. Justice VanStrydonck was elected to the Supreme Court in 1999 after being appointed by Governor Pataki to that court in the spring of 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 1962. After serving four years in the United States Navy, he returned to the State University at Buffalo where he obtained his law degree in 1973. He served as an assistant District Attorney for Monroe County from 1974-1979. Thereafter, he practiced law for twenty years at the firm of Trevett, Lenweaver and VanStrydonck. Currently he teaches a class in Trial Technique for the University at Buffalo Law School. Justice VanStrydonck has served as president of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Monroe County Pre-Trial Service Corporation, the Volunteer Lawyers Service Project and the Adam Walsh Child Resource Center. He has also served on the board of other community organizations such as the Monroe County Foundation and the Veterans Outreach Center. He continues to be active in both the State and local bar associations and has lectured at several CLE programs for both groups.
