In addition, the New York State Court System can provide judges and court personnel as speakers, at no cost, to schools, civic, business, religious and other community groups.
All judges are bound by the canons of Judicial Ethics and are unable to address certain matters, such as pending litigation. Suggested topics are provided in this brochure and are recommended due to their relevance to the New York State Court System, the law and the New York State Education Department's mandated school curriculum. Speakers will also discuss other court-related subjects of special interest to the host group and take questions from the audience or students.
Provided is a link to Court User Guides for each county in New York City and Judicial Districts outside New York City and their phone numbers. It is recommended that your request for a speaker be made directly to the Chief Clerk of the relevant court in New York City and the Executive Assistant in the relevant Judicial District and that you identify the topic you wish to be addressed, along with all details related to the speaking engagement.
