The New York State Court System’s annual media contest to promote jury service, academic year 2006/2007

Announcing the High School Winners of the Media Contest to Promote Jury Service

Academic Year 2007/2008

For the second consecutive year, middle and high school students learned about jury service and the vital role of jurors in our democracy by participating in the New York state courts’ Media Contest to Promote Jury Service. Contest participants were invited to submit posters, public service announcements, Internet banners and juror orientation videos to raise awareness about this important civic duty. Participants in this year’s contest also had the option of developing a lesson on why jury service is fundamental to our democracy. Entries were evaluated by the participating counties’ Commissioners of Jurors and their judging panels. Congratulations to all the winners!
