Announcing the
High School Winners of the Media Contest to Promote Jury
Service
Academic
Year 2006/2007
In the fall
of 2006, the New York State Courts invited students in selected
counties (Bronx, Broome, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond and
Schenectady) to submit various components of a jury service campaign
aimed to raise awareness about the importance of serving as a juror.
The students learned about the jury system as their teachers guided
them through the process of redesigning a jury summons, creating
posters,
public service announcements, Internet banners and juror orientation
videos.
The Commissioners of Jurors and their judging panels selected the
student winners. Congratulations to all of them and their teachers
for their commitment and creativity to promote jury
service.
