Filling of Business Certificates
The Queens County Clerk’s Office provides the service of filing and registering business certificates for small businesses located within the county of Queens. For filing sole proprietor businesses, business partnerships and persons conducting businesses under assumed names, please submit your certificates to the Certification department in the Queens County Clerk’s Office, room #106 at 88-11 Sutphin Blvd.
The filing fee for the business certificate itself is $100.00.
The fee for any additional certified copies that you may require is $10.00.
Payment may be made by United States Postal money order, certified check, attorney’s check or cash.
Please do not mail cash.
Forms may be purchased at any stationery stores that carry legal forms.
The Queens County Clerk’s Office requires proof of Queens County residency for the business.
All forms must be filled out legibly. Corrections may not be made to the forms. All forms must be signed and notarized at the time of filing.
Amendments and Discontinuance of businesses are filed with the Queens County Clerk’s Office as well. These forms may also be purchased at any stationery stores that carry legal forms.
Corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships and limited liability corporations must be filed with the Secretary of State in Albany, New York.
