1. I filed a motion, must I also file for a preliminary conference?
No, one will automatically be scheduled. If, after 30 days you do not hear from us, please contact the DCM department.

2. What is the phone number for…?
Click on the “Phone Directory” located under Menu.

3. When must I next appear in court? When is my preliminary conference, motion, conference, trial on?
Check WebCivil Supreme.

4. Do cases involving the City of New York take longer than other cases?
Yes, these cases can take considerably longer.

5. How do I check what is in the file?
The civil files are in the custody of the County Clerk. In order to view the file, you must visit the County Clerk’s Office. If you would like to access the minutes of a particular case, please go to Kings County Clerk.

6. I do not have a lawyer and would like some assistance with my papers, who do I turn to?
The office of the self-represented assists people who are not represented by counsel. They cannot, by law, give legal advice but will help a person through the process.

7. I filed my petition, Article 75, or 78 with the county clerk, why haven’t I heard from the court?
The movant must file a notice of petition along with the RJI with the court.

8. How do I obtain an attorney secure pass?
Attorneys may file for an attorney secure pass in the operations office at 360 Adams Street, room 848b. You may check to see if your pass is ready by calling: 347-296-1183.
