Can I plead by mail?
Yes, but the charge must be an infraction, if it is a misdemeanor, you can NOT plea by mail. You must appear in Court.
To plead, guilty complete Part A on the back of your ticket and mail it to the Court. You must include the Conviction Stub of your driver's license (NYS only)
I've lost my yellow ticket, what do I do?
Contact the Court. The Court can provide you a copy of the ticket and answer any questions you have.
I'm not guilty, what do I do?
Complete Part B and mail to Court. You will be notified by mail of the trial date or appear in Court on the scheduled date and request a trial.You MUST appear for your trial.
What is a supporting deposition?
This a written statement provided by the officer as to the facts involving the issuance of the ticket. This is not automatically provided - it must be requested in writing.
What happens if I fail to respond to my ticket?
Your driving privileges will be suspended for failure to appear. In addition, a bench warrant may be issued for your arrest
