Order to vacate

An Order to Vacate is an order that prevents anyone from setting foot on a particular property for a period of time.  Exceptions can be granted to allow owners and contractors to make repairs, or for occupants to obtain belongings.

For occupied properties, Orders to Vacate are only granted (with advance notice to the occupants) when the Court determines that it is unsafe for the occupants to continue to live at the properties.

For vacant properties, Orders to Vacate are granted to protect properties from vandalism or to protect the public from dangerous conditions.
