General Information


Security Measures prohibit the following in the Courthouse and facilities:
Firearms, Knives, Scissors, Pepper Spray, and all devices with the ability
to record audio, still images, or video
(e.g. cell phones).Court Officers will
confiscate them. They must be vouchered until the conclusion of the owner's
court business.



EMERGENCY MESSAGE
PLEASE BE AWARE: The NYS Court System does not ask prospective jurors for financial information such as credit card, bank account or personal information such as the names and ages of your family members. Do not provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the court system. If you receive this type of request, please contact our office during normal business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM at 914-824-5600.

Court Hours:
The Commissioner of Jurors office is open 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Inclement Weather:
In case of inclement weather, listen to your local radio stations WFAS, WHUD, or WVOX or call (914) 995-3206 or (914) 995-3208 after 7:00 a.m. for any cancellation or court delays.

Parking:
Juror parking is located in the Galleria and Library garages. One quarter for each half hour. Please bring quarters with you. Oversize vehicles must use the Hamilton Avenue municipal lot. Due to the Clean Air Act and the limited parking available, please use mass transit if at all possible. If handicapped parking space is required, please call 824-5600, in advance, for instructions.

Attire:
Proper dress attire is required (no shorts, tank tops or halters, etc.)

Meals:
There is a Coffee Shop for coffee, bagels, sandwiches, etc., located just outside the Central Jury Room. There are many restaurants withing walking distance on Main St., Martine Ave. & Mamaroneck Ave. The Galleria is located right across the street in which the food court offers a variety of foods.

Verification of attendance:
Jurors will receive a certificate of service as attendance verification for their employer or Federal Court. More specific information can be found in the F.A.Q. section or by calling 1 800 449-2819.


NOTE: Pursuant to Section 519 of the Judiciary Law, jurors have a right to be absent from employment. Violation of this by employer is criminal contempt of court and is a punishable offense, see Judiciary Law §750.
