Welcome to the website of the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court for the Second Judicial Department, the intermediate appellate court for Richmond, Kings, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties. More than half the State's population resides in those ten downstate counties and the litigation generated by the residents of the Second Department makes it one of the busiest appellate courts in the United States.

As the Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division for the Second Judicial Department, it is my goal to enhance and expand the court's well deserved reputation for providing the public with the most timely and efficient judicial services possible and to continue its tradition of being user friendly to all those who avail themselves of its services.
