The Appellate Division Law Library is the largest library in the New York State Court System and is the only NYS appellate-level court library open to the public.
We have no information on when we will re-open. We are, however, able to provide remote assistance, document delivery and curbside checkout to members of the bar.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Computers and Internet Access
Library computers are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Each computer is equipped with high-speed internet access and the Microsoft Office and Corel Word Perfect software suites. Printing is available from all workstations (15 cents/page). Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility; however, printing from wireless devices is not available at this time. All files saved to the hard drive are deleted on a nightly basis and upon each shutdown of the computer.
Westlaw, Lexis, and HeinOnline are available for use, free of charge, on all library computers. Each contains a robust package of legal content, including statutes, cases, treatises and historical materials. The library's versions are nearly comprehensive with regard to New York State legal materials and also contain a wealth of content from other U.S. jurisdictions.
Copiers & Scanners
The library has three public photocopy machines which accept coins, bills, or vendacards (print cards). The price per copy is $.25 using cash or $.15 on vendacard. Vendacards may be purchased for $1.00 each at the Circulation Desk.
One document scanner and one microform scanner are available for use, free of charge. Each allow library users to create PDFs which may be saved to a flash drive or sent via (personal) email. Library staff are available to assist users with the scanners. Resposibility for compliance with applicable copyright law lay exclusively with the user; the library assumes no resposibility with regard to copyright.
All users of the library and library technology are expected to abide by our conduct policy.
