There is no doubt that earning a GED or a high school diploma is an important educational step for everyone to obtain despite the career field he/she plans to enter. Therefore having a team of resourceful professionals to aid participants can make the experience less stressful. The Vocational Educational Counselor (VEC) will obtain school records and conduct tests in order to develop a educational plan to provide participants with the support needed to obtain his/her GED or high school diploma. The VEC’s might refer participants to appropriate schooling through relationships with colleges, trade or technical schools, and apprenticeship programs. Onsite, VEC’s will assist participants with GED applications and acquiring proper NY State ID care to facilitate placement into school. VEC’s will advise participants regarding college majors, admission requirements, entrance exams and financial aid.
