TRIAL PART RULES
HON. DAVID B. COHEN
1. Parties assigned to this part are presumed ready for trial with all necessary documents and witnesses available.
2. All parties, their attorneys or service must check in with court personnel upon entering the part.
3. Cases scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in this part will be dismissed or defaulted where a party or their attorney has not checked in by 10:00 a.m. Cases scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in this part will be dismissed or defaulted at 2:30 p.m. Cases otherwise assigned to this part will be dismissed or defaulted where a party or their attorney fails to check in within 15 minutes of the case being sent to this part.
4. No case may be adjourned except by application to the Court. Adjournments will be granted only in exceptional circumstances.
5. The Court will conference all cases between the parties and their counsel before a trial is conducted.
6. Cases shall be tried from day to day unless special circumstances dictate otherwise.
