Since courts filing on diskette already receive the benefits of filing electronically, courts are encouraged to consider two alternatives for filing your report. The first is the Justice Court Website (http://www.osc.state.ny.us/courts/index.htm), which provides a secure environment for filing electronically through the Internet. The second option is to transmit your report via e-mail.

Both options are easier than diskettes, as well as more efficient and reliable.

OSC has stated that they have taken necessary precautions to ensure that their website provides a secure environment for filing your monthly report. This secure site can only be accessed using a password and user ID that has been assigned to your court and will be provided to you upon request. The option to e-mail your report is available whether or not you have Internet access. Please contact Joe Ellrott at (518) 486-3166 for specific instructions on how you may utilize either of these options and for answers to any technical questions you may have.

Please note, you must file electronically either through the Internet or e-mail, to continue participating in the Invoice Billing Program. Should you be unable to continue to file electronically, you will need to remit your court receipts directly to the Justice Court Fund along with your monthly report. The JCF will then distribute the local share of your court receipts to your chief fiscal officer after each calendar quarter.

Please contact OSC at (518) 473-6830 to discuss any related questions or concerns.

New D400 code is available from all cetified vendors

Both Admit Computer and Service Education, Inc. We hope to have checks out soon. This year, we used the buying power of the Unified Court System to make some very good deals for the Justice Courts. For example, most people who requested fax machines will probably be getting an "All-In-One" machine. It works just like a conventional fax, with a big input tray for scanning documents with multiple pages. It also features a 110 page memory so if the toner runs out, the machine stores 110 incoming pages in memory and prints them once you change the toner. (By the way, we will also be sending an extra toner with each machine.)The All-In-One unit is also a medium-speed photocopier as well as a high speed LASER computer printer.
