Hiram Denio was born 21 May 1799 at Rome, NY. Studied law with Judge Hathaway of Rome, & Storrs & White of Whitesboro. Appointed District Attorney, 1825-34; appointed Circuit Judge from Fifth Circuit, 1834-38; appointed Bank Commissioner, 1838-40; Judge of Court of Appeals, 1853-66. Compiled five volumes of "Denio's Reports". Died 17 October 1868 at Utica, NY.
