William B. Wright was born April 16 1806 at Newburgh, NY. Studied law w/ Ross & Knevals. Surrogate of Sullivan County, 1840-44; delegate to Constitutional Convention of 1846; Assemblyman, 1846-47; Justice of Supreme Court from Third Judicial District, 1847-49; re-elected, 1849-57; re-elected, 1857-61; ex-officio Judge of Court of Appeals, 1847-48, 1856-57, 1860; elected Judge of the Court of Appeals, 1861-68. Died 1868.
