The Appellate Division, Third Department, is located in the Justice Building in the Empire State Plaza in Albany. This has been home to the Third Department since 1972, following stays in Albany City Hall, the Albany County Building, and most recently, the Albany County Courthouse. The Third Department occupies the fifth and sixth floors of the Justice Building. The courtroom is of contemporaty style and includes acoustically designed fluted walls and a coffer ceiling.
