Become a CASA

"I would consider it a great success if a caring New Yorker hearing or reading this report would volunteer to become a CASA.”

-- Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye, 2006 State of the Judiciary Address

CASA volunteers are ordinary individuals with an extraordinary commitment to children. There are more than 800 CASA volunteers in New York State. Each year they serve more than 3,800 children in 35 counties.

Prospective volunteers are screened, undergo a thorough background check, and participate in training based on a curriculum designed by the National CASA Association.

We invite you to learn more about becoming a CASA volunteer by contacting a CASA program in your community. We hope you decide to join our family of volunteers, everyday people who are committed to improving children’s lives.
