In 2007-2009, the NYS Unified Court System's Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Improvement Programs provided free collaborative divorce training to a number of professionals - lawyers, mental health professionals, and financial planning professionals - who have agreed to provide a certain amount of FREE or LOW-FEE collaborative divorce services to qualifying couples. If you are interested in determining your eligibility for these services or in receiving a referral, please feel free to visit 80 Centre Street, Room 133, New York, NY. Walk-in office hours are from 9:30 AM-4:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. To schedule an appointment or to learn more, send an email to collablaw@courts.state.ny.us or call (212) 428-5592.
In addition to the professionals mentioned above, there are trained divorce practitioners throughout New York State who have taken private sector training programs and who have formed Collaborative Law practice groups.
