The Dutchess County
Bench Manual was
developed for use by local magistrates by the Dutchess County
Universal Response to Domestic Violence Project, and was
originally published in November 1996 and updated in January
1998. This second edition reflects statutory changes enacted
through October 2002.
Although some of the policies and procedures outlined in
the manual are specific to Dutchess County, the manual could
easily be adapted to any county.
The appendices (which contain the forms referred to in the
manual), are not available on this web site. If you are interested
