Since 1990, the Ethics Commission for the
Unified Court System has been responsible for the distribution,
collection, review and maintenance of the financial disclosure
statements required to be filed annually by approximately
5,000 judges, justices and other employees of the court system,
pursuant to the Rules of the Chief Judge, 22 NYCRR Part 40.
Effective September, 2006, certain candidates for public election
to judicial office are also required to file financial disclosure
statements, pursuant to the Rules of the Chief Administrator
of the Courts, 22 NYCRR Part 100.

- Annual Statements of Financial Disclosure
for calendar year 2008 filed pursuant to Part 40 are due:
May 15, 2009.
- Annual Statements of Financial Disclosure
for calendar year 2008 filed by judicial candidates pursuant
to Part 100 are due within 20 days following the date on
which the filer becomes a candidate.

- You must file if you are a state-paid judge
or justice.
- You must file if you have been designated
a policy-maker for the purpose of financial disclosure.
List of Designated Policy Makers
- You must file if, as of 12/31/08, you were
a full-time nonjudicial employee and your annual rate
of compensation was in excess of $84,863.00 (regardless
of the amount you actually earned in calendar year 2008).
- You must file if, as of 12/31/08, you were
a part-time nonjudicial employee, your annual rate
of compensation was in excess of $84,863.00 and you actually
earned an amount in excess of $84,863 in calendar year
2008.
- You must file if, as of 12/31/08, you were
on a leave of absence (paid or unpaid) but you worked for
more than 30 days in 2008, and your annual rate
of compensation was in excess of $84,863.00.
- You must file if you are a candidate for public election
to judicial office. Such filing is not required if you are,
or were, required to file for the preceding calendar year
because you are, or were, a state-paid judge or justice,
or an employee of the Unified Court System. Such filing is not required if you are a candidate for public election to a Town & Village Court.
