The Administrative Board has adopted a Resolution urging attorneys to provide twenty hours of pro bono legal services to the poor annually.

Forty-six percent of New York State’s lawyers do pro bono legal work for the poor, providing more than two million hours of legal services every year.

At least five million hours annually of pro bono legal assistance are needed to meet just one minor civil legal need of every poor New York State household each year.
