Board has adopted a Resolutionurging
attorneys to provide twenty hours of pro bono
legal services to the poor annually.
FACT:
Forty-six percent of New
York State’s
lawyers do pro bono legal work for the poor,
providing more than two million hours of legal
services every year.
FACT:
At least five million
hours annually of pro bono legal assistance
are needed to meet just one minor civil legal
need of every poor New York State household
each year.
