LawHelp.org
LawHelp helps low and moderate income people and their lawyers find legal resources. Each program area, such as divorce, domestic violence or name change, has a "Know Your Rights" section that gathers together guides written for lay audiences.

The Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence
This New York State Agency is "dedicated to creating a State in which all people live free from domestic violence -- where equality, dignity and respect are actively embraced." Its website has links to a county-by-county list of services available for New York's victims of domestic violence.
