| NEW YORK - Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman announced
today the appointment of six new members to the Advisory Council for the
Housing Part of the Civil Court of the City of New York.
The new members are Magda L. Cruz, Michael Gage, Marvin S. Lerman, Jack
L. Lester, Sharon A. Myrie and Mitchell L. Posilkin. Ms. Cruz is
a member of the law firm of Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman; Judge Gage
is a retired Family Court Judge and former Administrative Judge for the
New York City Family Court; Mr. Lerman is a private practitioner in Manhattan;
Jack Lester is a private practitioner in Manhattan; Ms. Myrie is Vice President
for Education at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens; and Mr. Posilkin is General
Counsel to the Rent Stabilization Association of New York City.
The Housing Court Advisory Council is a 14-member body established by
law to screen candidates for the position of Housing Court Judge, review
Housing Court Judges for reappointment and make recommendations to the
Administrative Judge of the New York City Civil Court on other matters
concerning the Housing Part.
All of the appointments are effective immediately for a term ending
December 31, 2002. |
