| NEW YORK - Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman and
Administrative Judge for the New York City Civil Court Fern Fisher-Brandveen
today announced the appointment of Hon. Ernest J. Cavallo as Deputy Supervising
Judge of the Civil Court, New York County Housing Part. The appointment
was made by Judge Lippman, in consultation with Presiding Justice Joseph
P. Sullivan, of the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department.
Judge Cavallo was appointed as a Housing Court Judge in 1997 and served
in Queens. Prior to becoming a judge, he was employed by New York City
Corporation Counsel, serving in several positions, including Chief of Manhattan's
Trial Unit and Supervisor of the Tort Pretrial Unit in Brooklyn. Judge
Cavallo is a graduate of Fordham Law School and New York University.
The appointment is effective on March 27. |
