| NEW YORK - Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman and
Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau announced today the appointment
of Gregory L. Murray as the Director of Public Affairs for the Unified
Court System. In this position, Mr. Murray will oversee community and government
outreach initiatives, coordinate public affairs projects and manage an
intergovernmental relations division for the state court system.
Judge Lippman said, "Greg Murray has served with distinction within
the court system for over a decade. His knowledge of court operations is
extensive, and he has experience working in both administrative and
supervisory capacities. I have no doubt that as Public Affairs Director,
Greg will be a tremendous asset in keeping the public informed and educated
about the state's courts and in building stronger ties between the courts
and the community."
Mr. Murray joined the court system's Inspector General's Office in 1991,
serving most recently as the Assistant Inspector General. Prior to his
tenure with the judiciary, he was an investigator for various New York
City agencies, including the Board of Education, the Department of Investigation,
and the Housing Authority. He graduated from John Jay College with a bachelor's
degree in criminal justice, as well as a master's in public administration.
Mr. Murray succeeds Carol Robles-Román, who was appointed by
Mayor Bloomberg last December as Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs. The appointment
is effective immediately.
