TECHNOLOGY ENCHANCES JI TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
At a recent JI seminar on complex evidence in cutting-edge science and technology cases, small hand-held reply devices enabled the 70 participants to record answers anonymously to questions posed by presenters.
The interaction provided instantaneous feedback to the presenters on questions such as the participants' familiarity with the topic (e.g., 71 percent had had cases involving DNA evidence) and their comprehension of the lecture while it was being given.
The two-day program, which included a lecture by Nobel Laureate Dr. Harold E. Varmus, President of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, was a joint venture of the JI and ASTAR, the Advanced Science and Technology Adjudication Resource Center.
