DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION
FOR REINSTATEMENT

Motion by the respondent, Lloyd Jonathan Manning, for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law. By decision and order of this court dated April 23, 1991, the Grievance Committee for the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts was authorized to institute a disciplinary proceeding and the respondent was immediately suspended from the practice of law until the further order of this court. By opinion and order of this court dated September 23, 1991, the respondent's resignation as a member of the bar was accepted, and effective immediately, he was disbarred and his name stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law. By decision and order of this court dated February 10, 2005, the respondent's motion for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law was held in abeyance, and the matter referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness for an investigation and report on the respondent's current fitness to be an attorney including his receipt of certain payments for attorneys' fees subsequent to his resignation, and the absence of an affidavit of compliance and income tax returns for 1991 and 1992, if filed. The respondent was admitted to the practice of law on April 25, 1984, at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department.

Upon the report of the Committee on Character and Fitness, it is

ORDERED that the motion is granted; and it is further,

ORDERED that, effective immediately, the respondent Lloyd Jonathan Manning, is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law and the Clerk of the court is directed to restore the name of Lloyd Jonathan Manning, to the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law.
