DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION

Appeal by Willie Williams from a judgment of the County Court, Westchester County, rendered June 25, 2004. By letter dated February 6, 2007, Mark L. Freyberg, the appellant's retained counsel, advised the court that he had been discharged.

Now, on the court's own motion, it is

ORDERED that on or before March 30, 2007, the appellant shall either (1) retain new counsel to perfect the appeal and advise the court of the name and address of retained counsel, or (2) perfect the appeal or seek an enlargement of time to perfect the appeal; and it is further,

ORDERED that if the appellant does not comply with the above directives the court will issue an order to show cause why an order should or should not be made and entered dismissing the appeal as abandoned; and it is further,

ORDERED that the Clerk of this court, or his designee, shall serve a copy of this decision and order on motion on the appellant and the District Attorney by regular mail.
