DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION

Appeals by Steve E. Butler, Sr., from two orders of the Family Court, Kings County, both dated April 10, 2008. By order to show cause dated July 2, 2008, the parties or their attorneys were directed to show cause before this court why an order should or should not be made and entered relieving the assigned counsel for the appellant and dismissing the appeals in the above-entitled proceeding based on assigned counsel's inability to contact the appellant. Motion by the respondent for poor person relief and the assignment of counsel.

Upon the order to show cause and the papers filed in response thereto, and upon the motion for poor person relief and the assignment of counsel and no papers having been filed in opposition or in relation thereto, it is

ORDERED that the motion to relieve the assigned counsel for the appellant and dismiss the appeals is granted and the appeals are dismissed, without costs or disbursements; and it is further,

ORDERED that the motion by the respondent for poor person relief and the assignment of counsel is denied as academic.
