DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION
FOR REINSTATEMENT

Motion by the respondent for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law, and application for a change of venue to the First Judicial Department. The respondent was admitted to Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial District on March 27, 1991. By opinion and order dated November 10, 1997, he was automatically disbarred, pursuant to Judiciary Law §90(4), based on his conviction of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony, in violation of Penal Law §175.35; false registration, a class E felony, in violation of Election Law §17-104; and five counts of illegal voting, in violation of Election Law §17-132(3).

Upon the papers submitted in support of the motion and application, and the papers submitted in relation thereto, it is

ORDERED that the application for a change of venue is denied; and it is further,

ORDERED that the motion for reinstatement is held in abeyance and the matter is referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on the respondent's current fitness to be an attorney.
