DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION

Motion by the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District for leave to serve and file a supplemental verified petition dated April 4, 2011, in connection with a disciplinary proceeding pending before this Court. By decision and order on motion dated February 14, 2011, the Grievance Committee was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against the respondent based on a petition dated October 25, 2010, the issues raised were referred to the Honorable Abraham Gerges, as Special Referee to hear and report, and the respondent was suspended from the practice of law pursuant to 22 NYCRR 691.4(l)(1)(ii) and (iii). The respondent was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on February 19, 1997.

Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and no papers having been filed in opposition or in relation thereto, it is

ORDERED that the motion is granted; and it is further,

ORDERED that within 20 days after service upon her of a copy of this order, the respondent, Sandra Mara Sands, shall serve an answer to the supplemental verified petition upon the petitioner and the Special Referee, and shall file the original answer in the office of the Clerk of this Court; and it is further,

ORDERED that the issues raised in the supplemental verified petition and any answer thereto are referred to the Honorable Abraham Gerges, as Special Referee to hear and report, together with the issues previously assigned on the same matter.
