DECISION & ORDER ON

FOR REINSTATEMENT

Motion by Paul D. Kraft for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Mr. Kraft was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Department on September 16, 2009, under the name Paul David Kraft. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated April 23, 2014, Mr. Kraft was immediately suspended from the practice of law pursuant to Judiciary Law § 90(4)(f) based on his conviction of a serious crime, the Grievance Committee for the Second, Eleventh, and Thirteenth Judicial Districts was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against him, and the matter was referred to the Honorable Kenneth Davis, as Special Referee, to hear and report. By decision and order on motion for this Court dated July 7, 2014, the matter was reassigned to the Honorable Arthur Cooperman. By opinion and order of this Court dated May 20, 2015, Mr. Kraft was suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year, with credit for the time elapsed under the interim order of suspension, with leave to apply for reinstatement immediately.

Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is

ORDERED that the motion is held in abeyance and the matter is referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on Paul David Kraft's current character and general fitness to practice law, including but not limited to, his probationary status.
