| DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION FOR REINSTATEMENT |
Motion by Learie Richard Wilson for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Separate motion by Mr. Wilson for reinstatement notwithstanding the adverse recommendation of the Committee on Character and Fitness.
Mr. Wilson was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on July 26, 2000. By decision and order on application of this Court dated June 30, 2011, inter alia, the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against Mr. Wilson based on a verified petition dated May 3, 2011, and the matter was referred to Norma Giffords, Esq., as Special Referee, to hear and report. By opinion and order of this Court dated October 2, 2013, Mr. Wilson was suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year, commencing November 1, 2013, based on two charges of professional misconduct. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated May 5, 2015, Mr. Wilson's motion for reinstatement was held in abeyance and the matter was referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on his current character and general fitness to practice law.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion for reinstatement and the papers filed in relation thereto, upon the papers filed in support of the separate motion for reinstatement notwithstanding the adverse recommendation of the Committee on Character and Fitness and no papers having been filed in opposition or in relation thereto, and upon the report of the Committee on Character and Fitness and the exhibits annexed thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motions are denied.
We find that Learie Richard Wilson does not demonstrate the requisite fitness and character to practice law.
