2006-01167 MOTION
In the Matter of Randy Scott Steinhauser, a disbarred attorney.
(Attorney Registration No. 2212819)
| DECISION & ORDER ON FOR REINSTATEMENT |
Motion by Randy Scott Steinhauser for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Mr. Steinhauser was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on March 1, 1989. By decision and order on application of this Court dated July 31, 2006, the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against Mr. Steinhauser, after transfer of that matter from the Grievance Committee for the Second and Eleventh Judicial Districts, and the issues were referred to the Honorable Vincent Pizzuto, as Special Referee, to hear and report. By decision and order on motion of this Court also dated July 31, 2006, Mr. Steinhauser was immediately suspended from the practice of law on the ground that he was guilty of professional misconduct threatening the public interest based on his failure to cooperate with the Grievance Committee's investigation, and the charges set forth in a verified petition dated March 13, 2006, were referred to the Special Referee, previously assigned to this matter. By opinion and order of this Court dated May 1, 2007, Mr. Steinhauser was disbarred on default, the charges in the petition and a supplemental petition were deemed established, and his name was stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is denied.
We find that Randy Scott Steinhauser does not demonstrate the requisite character and fitness to practice law.
ENG, P.J., MASTRO, DILLON, BALKIN and LEVENTHAL, JJ., concur.
