DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION
FOR REINSTATEMENT

Renewed motion by Harold A. Landes for reinstatement as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Mr. Landes was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on January 27, 1982, under the name Harold Allen Landes. By opinion and order of this Court dated June 5, 1995, Mr. Landes was suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated July 1, 1997, Mr. Landes's motion for reinstatement was denied with leave to renew. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated January 6, 1998, Mr. Landes's renewed motion for reinstatement was held in abeyance and the matter was referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on his current fitness to be an attorney.

Upon the papers filed in support of the renewed motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, and upon the report of the Committee on Character and Fitness, it is

ORDERED that the renewed motion is denied on the ground that the movant has abandoned the renewed motion.
