2002-06346 In the Matter of John L. Meunkle, admitted as John Lawrence Meunkle, a disbarred attorney. (Attorney Registration No. 2442614)
| DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION FOR REINSTATEMENT |
Motion by John L. Meunkle for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Mr. Meunkle was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on January 15, 1992, under the name John Lawrence Meunkle. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated February 25, 2003, inter alia, Mr. Meunkle was suspended from the practice of law, pursuant to Judiciary Law § 90(f), based on his conviction of a serious crime. By opinion and order of this Court dated June 14, 2004, Mr. Meunkle was disbarred upon his resignation, effective immediately, and his name was stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated April 24, 2015, Mr. Meunkle's motion for reinstatement was held in abeyance and the matter was referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on his character and general fitness to practice law.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, and upon the report of the Committee on Character and Fitness and the exhibits annexed thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is denied.
We find that John L. Meunkle, admitted as John Lawrence Meunkle, does not demonstrate the requisite character and fitness to practice law.
ENG, P.J., MASTRO, RIVERA, DILLON and BALKIN, JJ., concur.
