Grievance Committee for the Ninth

Judicial District, petitioner;

Keisha Dixon, respondent.

(Attorney Registration No. 4080826)

DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION

Motion by the Grievance Committee for the Ninth Judicial District to deem as established the charges of professional misconduct set forth in a verified petition dated June 7, 2017, based upon the respondent's default in filing an answer, and to impose such discipline upon the respondent as the Court may deem appropriate. By decision and order on motion dated February 1, 2018, this Court, inter alia, (1) granted the petitioner's renewed motion to immediately suspend the respondent from the practice of law, (2) denied the petitioner's motion to deem the charges established based upon the respondent's default in filing an answer, (3) granted the respondent's application for leave to serve and file a late answer, (4) directed the respondent to serve an answer to the petition upon the petitioner and the Special Referee, and to file the original answer with this Court within 10 days after service of a copy of the decision and order on motion upon her, and (5) referred the matter to the Hon. Alfred J. Weiner, as Special Referee, to hear and report. On February 16, 2018, the petitioner served the respondent with a copy of the order dated February 1, 2018, together with notice of entry, by affixing and mailing such papers pursuant to CPLR 308(4) at the respondent's residence. The respondent filed an answer with the Court on February 26, 2018. The respondent was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on September 18, 2002, under the name Keisha Natasha Dixon.

Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and no papers having been filed in opposition or in relation thereto, it is

ORDERED that the motion is denied.
