DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION
FOR REINSTATEMENT

Motion by Jennifer C. E. Ajah for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Ms. Ajah was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on May 20, 1998, under the name Chinyere Akuezi Ekenna. By decision and order on application of this Court dated June 1, 2010, the Grievance Committee for the Second, Eleventh, and Thirteenth Judicial Districts was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against Ms. Ajah based upon the acts of professional misconduct set forth in a verified petition dated February 9, 2010, and the matter was referred to Honorable James A. Gowan, as Special Referee, to hear and report. By opinion and order of this Court dated July 24, 2013, Ms. Ajah was suspended from the practice of law for a period of five years, commencing August 23, 2013, based on 15 charges of professional misconduct.

Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in response thereto, it is

ORDERED that the motion is held in abeyance and the matter is referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on Jennifer C. E. Ajah's character and fitness to practice law.
