| DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION |
Motion by Sandra Mara Sands to amend the effective date of her disbarment from December 27, 2011, to February 14, 2011, and to permit her to immediately apply for reinstatement to the Bar. Ms. Sands was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on February 19, 1997. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated February 14, 2011, Ms. Sands was suspended from the practice of law pursuant to former 22 NYCRR 691.4(l)(1)(ii) and (iii), the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District was authorized to institute and prosecute a disciplinary proceeding against her based on a petition dated October 25, 2010, and the issues raised were referred to the Honorable Abraham Gerges, as Special Referee, to hear and report. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated June 23, 2011, the Grievance Committee was authorized to serve and file a supplemental verified petition dated April 4, 2011. By opinion and order of this Court dated December 27, 2011, Ms. Sands was disbarred upon her resignation, effective immediately, and her name was stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is denied.
