Appeal from an order of the Civil Court of the City of New York, Richmond County, entered July 12, 2019.

On the court's own motion, it is

ORDERED that the parties show cause before this court why the above-entitled appeal should or should not be dismissed on the ground that the appeal was not properly taken in that service of the notice of appeal was made upon an attorney who did not represent respondent and no application has been made pursuant to CPLR 5520 (a) to cure the defect, by filing an affidavit or affirmation on that issue with the Clerk of this court on or before October 30, 2019; and it is further,

ORDERED that the Clerk of this court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause on the parties' attorneys by regular mail.
