2015-07335, 2016-05270 The People, etc., respondent, v Jeffrey Contreras, appellant. (Ind. Nos. 3264/2012, 10032/2014)
| DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION |
Appeals from two judgments of the Supreme Court, Queens County, both rendered July 1, 2015. Motion by the appellant's assigned counsel, in effect, to be relieved of the assignment with respect to the appeal under Indictment No. 10032/14, on the ground that the appellant has abandoned that appeal by failing to respond to communications by assigned counsel. By order to show cause dated August 20, 2020, the appellant was directed to show cause before this Court why an order should not be made and entered dismissing the appeal under Indictment No. 10032/14 on the ground that the appellant has abandoned that appeal, and the motion by assigned counsel was held in abeyance in the interim.
Now, upon the order to show cause and no papers having been filed in response thereto, and upon the papers filed in support of assigned counsel's motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is ORDERED that the motion to dismiss the appeal under Indictment No. 10032/14 is granted and the appeal under Indictment No. 10032/14 is dismissed; and it is further, ORDERED that assigned counsel's motion is granted.
RIVERA, J.P., ROMAN, DUFFY and BARROS, JJ., concur.
